Hey peeps! Here's the discussion thread for my article on the Ungated and Citizen Within tech stacks.

I've been feeling a bit down the last week or two, and have been slipping into the swamp of insecurity and scarcity. Lesley Sim's newsletter today was a nice reminder that it doesn't have to be a lonely, dark affair, and that community is one of the key ways we can take care of ourselves.
Oh, and if you're into both newsletters/WordPress, definitely check out her awesome plugin!

A discussion for my super detailed business plan article. I tried my best to share some the weird, often contradictory nuances of how I've been thinking about this business, so I can't wait to hear what y'all think!

Hey ya'll,
My name is Travis Calvert and as the title says I'm a writer/director from Reno, NV.
I'm currently working on a documentary film called American Society about a gentleman named Eddie Subtitle who was crucial to the explosion of punk rock in the 1970s in Southern California, disappeared for decades, and re-emerged in his hometown of Reno to continue playing music in his 70s.

My ideal career is to always have a multitude of film projects in differing stages of development, such that I am always moving forward. Additionally these projects would fund themselves, i.e. the revenue from the previous films would fund the current projects while providing me a decent living and health insurance. It's a pipe dream, I know.
My favorite snack foods include: herbal teas, ginger cookies, and gummy candies.

Finding quality information online is difficult. Finding comprehensive information is hard. Finding both in one place, optimized for easy understanding and application is nearly impossible.
Which is why I was so excited to discover Julian Shapiro's free internet guides to:
Writing well
Growing a startup
Building muscle
Each of these is a masterwork of scientifically verified, easy-to-understand information. This guy is a master writer and researcher. (Julian.com)
If Julian ever writes about another subject I'm interested in, his web site will be my starting point for exploring the topic.
I've read a lot about writing and a lot about building muscle, and none of what he says conflicts with what I've learned. In fact, he refutes a lot of common myths, including some I already knew about and some I didn't.
Even if you are a brilliant writer with years of experience I'll bet you'll find something in his writing guide to improve your writing.
Here's what I want to know: Do you know of any other websites like his? Where someone spends 1000s of hours to create a comprehensive, thoroughly researched and masterfully optimized guide on a subject?
There should be a directory of sites like these. It would be priceless.
Do you have any other nominations for such a directory?

Hi ungated folks, I'm Brian!
I'm 26 and live near Grand Rapids, MI. By day, I work as a backend software engineer for a grocery chain (Meijer). I'm on my journey to become an indie hacker through web development.
Lately I've been working on a not yet validated web app that helps new graduates pay down student loan debt called Topple. I also build websites for small businesses on the side.
My ideal business will give me the freedom to make money while I sleep. I want to be able to spend more time with my family.
I like to snack on vanilla yogurt with granola 😛
Feel free to reach out!
